New Delhi: Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has been denied permission to visit him in Tihar jail on Monday, according to claims made by his Aam Aadmi Party.
Reports indicate that the Tihar Jail administration has declined the visit citing the scheduled meeting of Delhi Minister Atishi with the Chief Minister on Monday.
Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to meet him on Tuesday.

According to jail regulations, only two individuals are permitted to visit an inmate at a time. During Mr. Mann’s previous visit to meet Mr. Kejriwal on April 15, he was accompanied by AAP’s Organisation General Secretary Sandeep Pathak.
Sources within Tihar Jail suggest that after the meetings with Atishi and Bhagwant Mann, Sunita Kejriwal may be granted permission to meet Mr. Kejriwal after Tuesday.
However, as per jail rules, only two visits are allowed per week. Therefore, if Atishi meets Arvind Kejriwal on Monday and Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, no further meetings with Mr. Kejriwal can take place during this week.
It is anticipated that Sunita Kejriwal may only be able to meet him next week.
Mr. Kejriwal has been incarcerated since April 1, following his arrest on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
During his time in Tihar, there has been controversy over his diabetes and medication, with accusations from the Chief Minister and his party that the authorities have withheld his medication since his arrest. The Enforcement Directorate has alleged that Mr. Kejriwal has been consuming food unsuitable for diabetics.
On Saturday, Sunita Kejriwal led her first-ever roadshow in Delhi, campaigning for the Lok Sabha election. The extensive roadshow was held in support of the AAP’s East Delhi candidate. The party is contesting four of Delhi’s seven constituencies, while the Congress will contest the remaining three.
In Mr. Kejriwal’s absence, Sunita is expected to lead the party’s campaign in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.
